Adventure Quest (C64) Characters & Screen Names: Ynea Durinbold
Angels Online

"I beta tested this game. It has cute graphics, good music, a fun and versatile skill system, flexible character creation and an annoying UI."

Characters:

Xulcandra, — Priestess, with Life, Earth, Collecting, Hit, Meditate and Vestment. Makes a great buffer.

City of Heroes (PC)

Server: All Servers

Guild: Legion of Catgirls Triumph Chapter

Characters:

Boi Ling Ti, Level 8 Magic Controller — Earth/Storm Controller, currently the leader of the Paragon Dojo on Victory. I don't even know who he inherited this SG from and I'm the only member who ever logs on anymore.

Coffeecat, Level 7 Science Controller — Mind/Kinetic controller on Virtue and Test. She's higher level on Test, where she is my representative on CuppaJo's playtest SG, Cuppa Clones Espresso League. On Virtue, she is a member of the Legion of Catgirls and comes out only for recruiting.

Corabelle, Level 23 Magic Defender — Empathy/Psionic Blast Defender and my highest toon on Guardian. She's a member of the main chapter of the Legion of Catgirls on Guardian.

Emo Cat, Level 10 Magic Defender — Dark/Sonic defender specializing in to-hit debuffs, with a fair amount of slows thrown in. Emo is the base architect of the Liberty chapter of the Legion of Catgirls, thus the gloomy feel of the base. She is often found standing around under Atlas, talking to kittens and inviting them to the Legion. She found her powers on the pages of forgotten, dusty spellbooks in the deepest, darkest vaults of the library - books so dark, they would seriously mess with your mind.

Feather Jalanil, Level 17 Magic Blaster — My first archer, created when the archery powers were first introduced. Also the founder and current leader of the Elven Guardians on Champion.

Felis Nictus, Level 12 Science Defender — No, she's not really a Defender. We just don't have Warshades in the class list yet. This Warshade spends most of her time in feline form and uses her Nova form mainly for travel. Look for her in the skies of Triumph.

Garden Weasel, Level 7 Science Scrapper — Claws Regen scrapper on Triumph, #2 leader of the Rodent Force. If you can find him and read his description, you may recognize the mutagen which made a hero out of this ordinary garden weasel.

Hip Cat, Level 23 Technology Blaster — Electric/Electric Blaster in a colorful jumpsuit. She used to be Jerry Garcia's pet housecat, but an accident caused her to mutate into a catgirl. Since her mutation didn't give her any powers, she made weapons out of old amplifier parts and guitar pick-ups (thus the tech origin). She's the kitty whith whom I origally accepted my job as leader of the Triumph chapter of the Legion of Catgirls.

Lord Vaxilander, Level 14 Magic Blaster — This Energy/Energy Blaster was my first toon on Infinity and is still my highest level there.

Lord Xenophon, Magic Defender — My namesake exists as a dark/dark defender on every server.

Maiden Japan, Level 7 Magic Scrapper — This is my token Scrapper on Protector. She kicks some serious butt when I need a scrapper. She is Katana/Regen.

Mr. Arizona, Level 11 Science Controller — Fire/Radiation controller who recieved his powers from the first nuclear test at the Yuma Proving Grounds. Currently a member of the States Men, a supergroup based on the 50 states on the Victory server.

Mt. Vesuvius, Level 12 Magic Tanker — A fire/super strenth tanker on Freedom and my first attempt at playing a tanker. Thanks to this monster, I now know I don't like playing tanks. I still bring him out once in a while, mainly for screenshots.

Mystic Knight of Io, Level 27 Magic Controller — Fire/Rad controller, hot as lava and fortified with 22 isotopes of radioactive sodium! Currently the last surviving leader of the Astral Vanguard on Triumph.

Nekomancer, Level 9 Magic Defender — A Dark/Dark Defender and my only Catgirl on Champion. I mainly pull her out for recruiting, but she's also the architect for the Champion base.

Nuclear Winter Cat, Level 13 Magic Controller — This Ice/Radiation Controller is one of the most feared debuff dispensers ever to terrorize the giant monsters of Paragon City. She especially enjoyed knocking the Envoy of Shadows on his butt! She can't really do much else, though.

Pole Cat, Level 7 Magic Controller — Earth/Storm Controller. She's a Pole cat because she's a cat from Poland. No stinkies to fear from her, although she can certainly blow some wind when she needs to.

Russian Blues, Level 12 Magic Blaster — Energy/Energy Blaster and a middle manager in the original chapter of the Legion of Catgirls on the Justice server. Yes, the Legion of Catgirls really did start out on Justice!

Sand Sorceres, Level 2 Magic Controller — Earth/Storm Controller on Virtue. Sandy exists only to prove how many badges I can get without leveling. Most of her badges were gained before exploration badges were worth XP. Check out her collection at http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/LordXenophon/Chr Inf/SanSorInf.jpg

Sarah Belham, Level 50 Magic Controller — Formerly a member of Nukem High and left over moral differences with the corrupt leadership at Nukem. Now the only 50 in the Triumph chapter of the Legion of Catgirls.

Senor Habanero, Level 20 Mutant Blaster — Fire/Fire Blaster on Triumph. Member and current leader of the Veggie Meddley, an official supergroup of gameamp.com. Not much activity in this SG anymore, but we are all in touch and sometimes round up a few Veggies for a team.

Sgt. Igneous, Level 9 Magic Controller — Fire/Kinetics Controller. Just because he looks like a big pile of molten rock doesn't mean he has to be a tank. He wears a special pair of heat-resistant ceramic sunglasses to protect his eyes from the glare of his own hands.

Sofa Shredder, Level 4 Mutant Scrapper — Claws/Regen Scrapper on Liberty. She doesn't get out of the base much, mainly because scrappers are not my favorite AT to play. I keep her just to have a token scrapper available on Liberty, in case somebody needs one.

Sweet Ifrit, Level 9 Magic Defender — Fire/Storm Controller on Protector. She's my first attempt at playing a controller, as well as my first attempt to make an entirely team-oriented toon. That didn't work out as well on Protector as it did on other servers.

Tessie Trueheart, Level 23 Natural Scrapper — Katana/Regen Scrapper, currently #2 leader of the Beautiful Ladies of Paragon on Virtue. I'm in charge of the SG base and other technical details, as well as the website - tblop.blogspot.com

The Black Currant, Level 10 Mutant Blaster — This Electric/Electric Blaster was my first Blaster ever. He's a member of the Fantastic Fruits on Triumph.

The Feline Magnetron, Level 4 Mutant Defender — Radiation/Radiation Defender. Her whole SG, the Radioactive Kitty Litter, is composed of Radiation/Radiation Defenders. We are all level 4 and plan to cut a glowing swathe across Paragon when all 8 of us can get together. The RKL is a small chapter of the Legion of Catgirls, on Protector.

The Jumping Cholla, Level 40 Mutant Scrapper — This Spines/Regen Scrapper existed for only one day on the Test server, during a playtest event. He spent the whole day seeing how many badges he could get in a single day. The answer turned out to be 114. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y248/LordXenophon/Chr Inf/JumpingCholla.jpg

The Naughty Librarian, Level 28 Magic Controller — This Mind/Empathy Controller was my first attempt at a Trollfender, a cross-class build which uses a Controller to make a purely defensive character. She has every Empathy power available at her level, except for Absorb Pain. I'm very pleased with how this build turned out, but the people she used to run with have moved on to WoW. She'll still be 50 someday, but currently spends more time getting badges than XP.

The Raving Redhead, Level 27 Magic Controller — Illusion/Empathy Controller, and my second attempt at a Trollfender. The Illusion/Empathy combo isn't working as well for me as Mind/Empathy, but I expect her to be much more powerful in the higher levels.

Thunder Kitten, Level 12 Magic Defender — Storm/Electric Defender and my representative in the Protector chapter of the Legion of Catgirls. I am the base architect in this chapter.

Tim Possible, Level 14 Technology Blaster — AR/Defices blaster on the Champion server. Current leader of the Forgotten Army, a loosely organized SG of alts who want to be left alone but want SG base perks. Feel free to join if you just want to be in an SG, but don't want the politics.

Wintergreen Cat, Level 6 Science Tanker — This Ice/Ice Tank is my Legion of Catgirls recruiter on Freedom. I don't really use her for anything else. I don't really play my tanks much.

Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. No, I feel voice chat detracts from the game

Q. What is the most memorable flamewar you can remember? (Answer!)
A. That is a question I would rather not answer. Let the flames die.

Q. What is a feature you would like added to GamerDNA? (Answer!)
A. A write-in blank for the game info page, for people who play games which haven't been listed yet.

Q. What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters? (Answer!)
A. That depends on the game. I have a Hewlett Packard calculator in easy reach at all times and I do have a tendancy to make spreadsheets for everything in sight, not just character planning. I've used character planning software in a few games, but I'm much more likely to plan in my head based on information I calculate myself and/or look up on the internet.

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. My memory sticks.

Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. Movie soundtracks go perfectly with gaming. There's nothing like fighting an epic battle while listening to the background music from an epic battle.

Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. Playing another gender is not as much of a stretch for me as playing another race. I know a lot more girls in real life than Orcs, Wookies or Kheldians. I choose both race and gender based on what best fits my character concept. Just don't ask me to cyber unless you want a lightning bolt up your <Bleep!>.

Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. I like to put on armor made from recycled metal and plastic and go to the park to beat people up with a wooden sword wrapped in foam and duct tape.

Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. Twilight 2000 would have made a great MMORPG. Of course, the original timeline would be considered an 'alternate history' now, but it would still be great.

Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. Those are my sister's reading glasses. She's always leaving them on there.

Q. If you could cancel any online game, which would it be? (Answer!)
A. Star Wars Galaxies. Let the contract lapse so someone else can make a Star Wars game that's actually fun.

Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. PvP provides a much greater challengs than PvE play. On the other hand, nothing sucks more than another player camping the hospital, except maybe 8 stalkers camping the hospital together.

Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. Tank guns are best mounted in the rear of your vehicle, so the recoil can be used for a little extra speed boost when you need to get away. I reccomend you hide it behind blow-through concealment, then put a fake tank gun on the front of your vehicle, so your enemies will think it's actually safe to attack you from behind. Bubblegum makes the best filling putty for the blow-through concealment, because it breaks away more cleanly than ticky-tacky or rubber cement.

Q. Beside GamerDNA, what are your favorite websites? (Answer!)
A. Gameamp.com, exquisitecorpse.org, apod.NASA.gov, www.createphpbb.com/forgotten, Space.com

Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. Pong is easier if you turn the paddle on its side.

Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. The worst players are the ones who have played a game just long enough to think they have no more to learn about playing it, but not enough to have any idea of what kind of tactics will actually work well. I especially dislike the ones who tell me I'm wrong about something, then quote something I published on the internet several versions of the game ago, back when what I said was still true.

When it comes to City of Heroes, I really DO know more than nearly anyone and I'm STILL LEARNING. There is always more to learn and the game is constantly changing. Not even the devs know all there is to know. If you think you know it all, then you're falling behind those of us who know better.

Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. It's called a convention. I've been to more than I can remember and my head is full of wonderful memories from many of them. So is my photo album.

The Paragon Protectors (Protector server, City of Heroes) was formed at a Hexicon in Tuscon. Mishra's Army (Guardian, City of Heroes) and Tormod's Crypt (Guardian, City of Villains) were formed at Realicon 2005 (and turned into generic supergroups about 3 months later).

LordXenophon is a Tactical Expert. This is the guy to ask if you need to know how to defeat a GM or AV in City of Heroes. He invented a lot of great tactics, some of which are used by just about everyone today. If he gives tactical advise in a mission, listen to him. His stuff works!
